Sunday afternoon….and I am sitting on the sofa watching leaves fall from the trees. Summer seems a distant memory. I have noticed on the social networks that over keen Crimbo lovers are already informing everyone of how many seconds it is to Christmas Day…alas I am one of those bah humbug type people who can wait for the festive silliness to commence.
Don’t get me wrong – I am not Mrs Scrooge, it’s just that every Christmas it becomes increasingly hard to find a suitable Xmas present for Jack. You would think after 14 years I would be “hardened” to not being able to buy my son exciting Xmas presents, that I wouldn’t miss his face light up as he rips the paper of a much wanted games console, or a new bike…or flash trainers, but I don’t think you ever really get over that side of having a child with special needs. The thought of what they would be doing with their life if they hadn’t got such complex needs….it never leaves you. But Hurrah…this year Jack needs a new music system…so yay!!! Xmas present problem sorted!
As for our gorgeous boy, he’s ticking along nicely – apart from some weightloss…which I admit is a tad concerning. He’s settled wonderfully into his new class at school and is even indulging in some flirting with a young lady called Ellie! Doesn’t surprise me…he’s always been a charmer has my son.
Matthew and Hannah are very well – they have both settled back into school well….although Matty is going through that stage where he thinks he knows it all. I have been reassured that this stage will last only for another 10 years or so. Oh joy!
Paul’s contract is being renewed at work…which is fantastic news. We have spent much of this year stressing over what would happen if he lost his job.
Young Ruby is also thriving! She will 8 months old next month…and is nothing short of a teenage terrorist! We have just had her Spayed as we aren’t breeding from her.
Well, school photo’s are due soon, so will publish on here in due course.
